"I was trying to price a holiday for me and my son, and kept hitting a wall — everything was priced for two adults or four sharing. As a single mum, I couldn't make the numbers work. We ended up doing day trips and cheap caravan stays instead of the holiday we really wanted. That's when StayMates came to me."

Like so many people, I know what loneliness feels like. As a single mother living with BPD, PTSD, anxiety, depression and mobility challenges, there were times when life felt impossibly hard and isolating. Getting through those years taught me one thing above everything else: connection matters. Community saves lives.
StayMates isn't just about splitting costs — although that matters too. It's about building the village. It's about giving single adults, single parents, and anyone travelling alone the chance to find a real companion. Someone to share the adventure with. Someone who gets it.
When I finally decided to turn this idea into something real, I wanted to build something I wish had existed when I needed it most. A safe, verified space where you can find your StayMate — not a date, not a stranger, but a genuine travel companion who's in the same boat as you.
Because holidays shouldn't be a luxury only couples and families can afford. And no one should have to face the world alone.
